lets be honest, the longing for a six pack and a ripped set of abs is high if not top of most peoples goals list.
We all know our abs are there somewhere, but they have an annoying habit of hiding (under body fat). People who train regularly will be engaging their abs regularly, and underneath the body fat there lays a set of abs.
However the search to make them visible often leaves many people disheartened, frustrated, and googling articles call ‘get a 6 pack quick’.
If it was as easy as following a quick how-to guide to a perfect looking six pack nearly everyone would be ripped!
The harsh reality is that simply is not going to happen without a serious amount of will power, determination and time. Now I can help you reduce that time and get them visible as quick as possible but it won’t just happen overnight.
I see everyday endless people in the gym relentlessly doing sit ups, crunches and all manner of ab exercises. These people want flatter toned stomach but have not visible abs. Now there is nothing wrong with that, after all it will help the formation of your abdominal muscles, but that alone won’t be an effective way of getting visible abs. After all if you train your biceps over and over you would expect them to get bigger. If you keep training your abs, expect the muscles to grow and if they are not visible, your stomach will just appear bigger (and most likely look fatter).
Just training ab exercises fails to do is address the visibility aspect which requires a serious amount of work outside the 4 walls of the gym. Your abs need a quality nutrition plan (you don’t need a low carb, intermittent fast diet, you can, but a good nutrition plan will allow you to eat regularly and get abs-message me for more information on custom nutrition plans).
By all means continue training your abs, but DON’T overlook the need to reduce your body fat before the visibility aspect improves. Relentless crunches are not a productive fat burning exercise.
Look into LISS training and HIIT training as good fat burning alternatives, and combine this with a carefully planned nutrition plan, and begin to reveal what is so often our hidden assets. Just make sure you don’t overlook weight training too, the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns, plus you want to look fit and healthy rather than skinny right? Remember big compound moves utilising more body parts will burn more calories to lead to fat loss and eventually visible abs.
Remember so called ‘fat burners’ are a mere gimmick. The key is simple; hard work! I personally utilise Whey protein, instant oats and even dextrose as supplements that allow me to hit my required calorie intake conveniently and still have abs!
Think of it as a dynamic process, requiring fat loss training in the gym, with fat loss from a dietary perspective, supplement that with your ab training, and start to transform you abdominal area.
Remember Elite Physique offers custom training plans, tailor made nutrition plans from nutrition experts not a standard PT and one on one training sessions – all these aspect are specifically designed to shred that stubborn body fat!
